Why the name??

Now to answer the billion dollar question-Why the name Pentagram?? Pro-Jew sentiment? Ya right!!...The name came from a brainstorming session the team had on the eve of the Maverick preliminary case study submission day (and by brainstorming session I mean the team was in a meeting room in B3F, enjoying some coffee and discussing important issues of National Importance such as who is hotter-Sonam ya Ash? and who do you think should play Dr. Moriarity in the next Sherlock Holmes movie?.-Johnnie Depp ya Christian Bale?). We had settled on the name 'Panchatantra' cos of the whole desi thing but suddenly the SCMHRD thoroughbred element of the team, Mr.Himanshu Sharma came up with a random burst of thought... "Why dont we call the team, THE PENTAGRAM". Now many in the team did not know what it meant and so we did what any self-respecting consultant/analyst worth his salt would do in times of crisis...Google!!

Wikipedia defines the Pentagram as a five-pointed star, surrounded by a circle and stated that it was a symbol of religious, cultural and historic significance. We thought we would bring our own interpretation to the ancient symbol. The question was...What are the things expected of a Maverick? A maverick is a pioneer, he is anti-establishment, he is unconventional in whatever he does. The term maverick is derived from one Mr. Samuel Maverick. who among other claims to fame, was notorious for not branding his cattle, which was considered very unconventional in those times.
